At the New York 2008 Meeting, Michael Kean, Vice President of Public and Government Affairs at McGraw-Hill Education, provided DRE with an update on current federal legislation affecting education, including Head Start, the Higher Education Act, and No Child Left Behind, as well as the current presidential candidates' view on education. He also provided us with a history of DRE from the 1960's to today, drawing on his experiences since his days as a graduate student at Ohio State in 1969. It's an excellent and fascinating read, with implications for DRE as it moves forward.
